Peace At Home

Author: Stephen W. Cote

I found a piece of my home

A box in a corner of a room

under the refuse you had used

to hide my identity from view

I knew the words you would use

And the intentions in your views

I heard the words that you would say

Your faux jewels for the day

I lost a little peace of mind

When I became irate and tongue-tied

I'm not so divine to forgive

Content to bear this grudge as sin
